18.03.2005 SN Brussels Airlines opens three new
destinations: Direct flights to Jersey, Bari and Cork from Brussels this
summer SN Brussels Airlines offers direct flights to three new
tourist destinations this summer. In July and August, SN will head to the
European cultural capital Cork, to Jersey in the Channel Islands, and to
Bari in southern Italy. SN is the only airline to offer a direct service
to these popular destinations, with full-service return flights starting
from € 114 including tax.
Cork The South Irish city Cork sparkles with energy this
summer. Cork was declared the Capital of Culture of 2005 for a good
reason. This results in an impressive cultural offer consisting of
exhibitions, dance, architecture, theatre, literature and music. The easy
website www.Cork2005.ie gives a total overview of al events that take
place in the city this summer. The city also houses an entire range of
attractions well worth seeing, for example the famous butter museum, the
old prison (Old City Gaol), Blarney Castle and the Victorian English
Market.
The Kerry Region, just west of Cork, is worth more than a visit. A
thousand kilometres of stunning coastline is just waiting for watersports,
climbing and walking enthusiasts, while the interior offers the fantastic
scenery of the lake district.
SN will fly twice a week to Cork with an AVRO RJ in July and August.
During the 2 hours flight a full service is offered onn board. Individual
customers as well as groups are welcomed. At just 6 km distance, the
airport is a stone’s throw of the city centre. Thanks to the flight days
Monday and Thursday long weekend trips, midweeks, short breaks and full
holidays are perfectly possible. Céad mile failte, hundred thousand times
welcome to Cork this summer! SN offers a return ticket from € 121, all
taxes and meals included.
Jersey At the moment there is no direct flight from Belgium
to the Channel Islands. Many Belgians, who yearly want to visit Jersey,
had to fly to the flower island with a time-consuming transfer in Great
Britain. This will change in July and August, thanks to the new SN
Brussels Airlines flights. After one and a half hour flying, wonderful
beaches, an overwhelming nature, impressive flora, great hospitality,
delicious cooking and peace and quiet all await the visitor.
The Channel Islands, of which Jersey is the biggest, lie in the bay of
St. Malo, just off the French Coast. Though it’s not very far, one still
gets the feeling of being on the other side of the world. Jersey offers
something for everyone and there is no mass tourism. For those who enjoy
walking on the beach or in the forest, biking the green lanes, water
sports or just taking it easy, Jersey is the perfect destination. The
website www.jersey.com gives an excellent overview.
SN Brussels Airlines flies on Wednesday and Saturday direct to Jersey.
The timetable allows short breaks and long holidays. SN offers a return
ticket from € 124, all taxes and meals included. Book quickly.
Bari Last summer SN Brussels Airlines offered, with great
success, Naples as a new Italian destination. This summer SN adds a new
South Italian destination, Bari, to its rich Italian offer. Bari could be
reached directly from Brussels, until a few months ago, when another
airline ended its activities. Thanks to SN Brussels Airlines, Bari, the
heart of the Apulia Region, will be reconnected with the European capital.
Good news for thousands of tourists and Belgian-Italian families that flew
directly from Brussels to Bari last summer.
In popular speech Bari is sometimes called “The Milan of the South”
because it houses the most important business activities and a lot of
universities, as it is the capital of Apulia. But above all Bari is a
tourist attraction. The historical city centre is a real labyrinth of
little alleys and a castle, with an impressive cathedral and basilica.
The rest of Apulia- the heel of Italy - also attracts tourism. An
impressive coastline with hundreds of kilometres of sandy beaches
alternated with rocks and clefts are awaiting the tourist. The region,
that describes itself as “Terra d’Arte, Cultura e Sapori” or “Land of Art,
Culture and Tastes” is expecting an increase of 12% in visitors this
year.
SN flies three times a week from Brussels to Bari in July and August.
Flight days are Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. Return flights start at € 114,
all taxes and full service included. |

17.03.2005 Scandinavian Airlines launches the next
generation airline seat Beginning next year, passengers travelling
with Scandinavian Airlines International will be able to sleep tight
during flights to the US and Asia.
Scandinavian Airlines launches the next generation airline seats on
March 17-19, at the yearly travel exhibition in Scandinavia. The modern
design and functionality makes the airline seat comparable to - and works
like - a proper bed. The new seats will be installed in business class in
the beginning of 2006.
According to our customer surveys, many of our passengers request
greater privacy accompanied with more comfort, says Lars Lindgren, Head of
Scandinavian Airlines International. The new seats are a way of increasing
the convenience for our passengers on board. The seats are both appealing
and comfortable according to the studies we have made, and that is very
satisfactory. The new seat permits better comfort and a more private space
than traditional seats.
The total space for every passenger will increase and when the seat is
folded out into sleeping position it will not interfere with passengers in
the row behind. Besides the possibility for comfortable sleep in the seat,
there are many exclusive features. The viewing screen, which is fixed in
the seat in front, is extra large and includes a video with on
demand-functionalities. This means that the passengers themselves can
choose when to and how to use the entertainment supplied.
Also, there is a clever storage built-in the seats for lap-tops and
maybe a bottle of water. |
